    o
  • Binoculars are probably ideal (7×50 or 10×50) gives a wide enough field to see Mars embedded among the cluster stars.
    o
  • A small telescope at low magnification can also give a beautiful view, but high magnification may make it difficult to fit much of M44 into the field.
    o
  • The New Moon is on Saturday 10th October, so the morning of the 11th has exceptionally dark conditions.
