Daylight Savings

- The clocks go back on Sunday, 25th October to mark the end of British Summer Time (BST) and return the UK to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), shifting the time from 2am back to 1am.
o - For stargazers and astronomers, moving the clocks back means darkness arrives earlier in the evening, which is highly beneficial, because it allows for much earlier night sky viewing and astrophotography sessions.
o - The Reasons for the October Clock Change
– Winter Months: It reverses the spring adjustment, bringing the country back to its baseline solar time for the winter months.
o
– Brighter Mornings: Moving the clock back provides an extra hour of daylight in the early morning during the darkest months of the year.
o
– Minimise Disruption: The change happens at 2:00 am because public transport and business activity are at their lowest levels, and most people are asleep.
