  • The Moon’s Jewelled Handle is a beautiful lunar observing feature, also known as the Lunar Golden Handle.

  • It appears when sunlight illuminates the peaks of the Jura Mountains while the surrounding Sinus Iridum (Bay of Rainbows) remains in shadow.

  • The feature is expected to be visible from the UK during the evening of 19 November, with favourable viewing conditions continuing into the early hours of 20 November.
