Earth Features – Rainbow

  • Rainbows form when sunlight passes through raindrops and is split into colours by refraction and reflection ~ that’s the rainbow effect you see in the sky.

  • Sometimes you see a fainter second rainbow outside the first:
    – It’s caused by two reflections inside the raindrops.
    – The colours are reversed in the second rainbow.

  • Rainbows over the MK Dons stadium.

  • The rainbow in my looks like it’s forming a natural “shield” over my caravan and car – it’s a perfect moment where the arc frames both vehicles, giving a magical protective vibe.

  • Rainbow at ‘The Mull of Galloway’ is Scotland’s southernmost point.
