- NGC 2359, widely known as Thor’s Helmet, is a massive glowing cloud of gas and dust located roughly 15,000 light-years away in the constellation Canis Major.
o - It gets its famous nickname because its round shape and sweeping, wing-like extensions perfectly resemble the battle headwear of the Norse god of thunder.
