Cirrostratus fibratus (Cs fib)

  •  A cirrostratus cloud is a high-level, ice-crystal cloud that forms as a thin, transparent veil covering much or all of the sky.

  • Contain millions of tiny ice crystal clouds – the hola (“rainbow ring”) ~ you see are caused both by both refraction, or splitting of light from these ice crystals from the Sun at day or from the Moon at night.

  • “Milky” transparency at day time
