- The NGC 7380, commonly called the Wizard Nebula, is a young open star cluster embedded in an emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus.
o - The nickname comes from the nebula’s shape in some telescope images, where glowing gas resembles a wizard wearing a pointed hat.
o - The nebula is a vast cloud of hydrogen gas energised by hot young stars in the cluster ~ radiation from these stars causes the gas to glow in long-exposure astrophotography.
