  • the heaviest collapsed star cores become black holes.
  • the pull of its gravity is so strong that nothing nearby – dust, stars, even light can escape.
  • not every galaxy has a black hole, but most large galaxies do.
  • irregular galaxies don’t have a black hole because they don’t have a bulge.
