Glossary of Astronomy – Circumpolar
- these stars are so close to a celestial pole (North or South) that they never dip below the horizon.
- they just move around the pole in a circular path throughout the year.
- in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s stars like Polaris in the constellation Ursa Minor that never set when viewed from higher northern latitudes.
