Capricornus (The Sea Goat)

  • The small constellation of the Zodiac; the Sun passes through it from 19th January and 16th February.
  • The second faintest in the Zodiac after the constellation of Cancer and it is the smallest constellation in the Zodiac too.

Messier Objects

  • M30 – Globular Cluster, it’s magnitude +7.5; easily spotted with binoculars.

Features of interest

  • Â Algedi star; a wide double star. Ordinary binoculars or good eyesight, reveal two stars of magnitudes +3.6 and +4.3; both are yellowish in colour.
