A brand-new Meade 16-inch Lightbridge Dobsonian was brought by Derek Rowley.

David’s alignment was a bit off to fix this he used the screws located on the finderscope’s crosshairs to make it perfectly aligned with his eyepiece.

Played a game to recognise the constellations at the campsite’s pub to have the evening meals and socialising.

First night on arrival, it was so strong winds, that night Derek’s new Meade 16 inch Lightbridge telescope to start first observing with a planet, Jupiter. It was clear to see the Jupiter’s belt – the wide equatorial zone was visible in the centre surrounded by two equatorial belts.

One of the best to be seen NGC6888 (The Crescent Nebula) with a 2″ eyepiece 22mm Panoptic with UHC (Ultra High Contrast) filter allowed transmission of almost 100% of the radiation from both OIII, H -Beta and H-Alpha with this strong blocking of the sky background an unexpected wealth of details becomes visible of gas nebulae.

The GOTO 12″ SCT telescope was controlled to spot the red planet, Mars in a broad daylight at 11am in the morning – it’s so amazing to see it in the shape D. Also the Rising Venus in the east horizon was seen in the shape of C as it’s a very thin crescent Venus.
