Although we can’t feel the Earth spinning, it makes one complete turn, each day, around its own axis.

Glossary of Astronomy – Axis of rotation

  • rotation is when something turns or spins around a point located at its centre.
  • Earth has an imaginary axis or a line, that starts at the top of the earth at the north pole and goes completely through Earth’s centre and ends at the south pole.
  • although we can’t feel the Earth spinning, it makes one complete turn, each day at 24 hours, around its own axis.
